The bridge offers wonderful place to watch and photograph the constant activity of boats on the Grand Canal. Additionally, the Bridge of Sighs (1600) was built as passage way between the Palazzo Ducale and the prison. It reputedly took its name from the sighs of prisoners being led to trial.
