It is open almost every day except for December 25th and January 1st. The Colosseum is usually open from 8:00 AM until one hour before sunset (Hours may vary seasonally). The best time to visit is early morning or late afternoon to avoid crowds. Spring and Fall are the best seasons for mild weather.

The Roman Forum, Palatine Hill, Piazza Venezia, and the Capitoline Museums are all within walking distance.
