Description

Meet your expert guide by the Vatican Museum entrance and enjoy skip-the-line entry to what is arguably the most important collection of art in the world. Much of this tour will be dedicated to the majestic Sistine Chapel, from its commissioning to the finishing touches applied by none other than Michaelangelo Buonarroti. You will hear the true life story of this fascinating yet tormented artist, who considered himself a sculptor and not a painter yet dedicated countless years of his life painting frescoes on a ceiling 44 feet high. Learn of the physical and psychological damage inflicted on the artist as your guide helps you to discern between myth, fact, and popular Hollywood fiction regarding this epic work of art.

After a morning of art and sculpture, be sure to bring an appetite – next up is a food tour like no other!

Meet your guide in Trastevere, the most characteristic neighborhood of Rome. From there we set off on Rome’s ultimate street food journey across the Tiber and through the cobblestone streets and squares of the Eternal City on a mission to taste the most genuine food Rome has to offer. Try an authentic Roman pizza (which of course goes hand-in-hand with a crispy fried supplì with melted mozzarella), sink your teeth into a crispy panzerotto, and to wash it all down – a taste of  some delectable Lazio region wine!

The protagonist of this foodie adventure is naturally an out-of-this-world carbonara, which is not just a dish of pasta but a way of life for Romans. After this piece de resistance,  enjoy  the sweet contrast of ciambelline al vino. And last but not least, experience the sweet ambrosia of a tiramisù and an artisanal gelato. This epic food tour offers far more than just a chance to taste delicious food—it’s a journey of discovery, connection, and gastronomic immersion you won’t forget!
