Bellagio and the Three Lakes Grand Tour

Depart from your Lake Como area hotel and head north in a luxury air conditioned van. Enjoy the scenic views as you cross over the border into Switzerland to Ascona, the pearl of Lake Maggiore. Lake Maggiore is one of the largest Italian lakes, known for its stunning backdrop of snow-capped Alps and colorful lakeside promenades. Enjoy free time to explore Ascona and its wonderful architecture, shops and people.

From Ascona, a short ride brings us to Lugano, often called the “Monte Carlo” of Switzerland with its one of a kind views and designer shops. Enjoy lunch along the lake and of course sample some artisanal swiss chocolate. Art lovers won’t want to miss the lakefront Santa Maria degli Angioli Church which holds the ‘Passion and Crucifixion’ fresco by Da Vinci’s apprentice, Bernardino Luini.

Leaving Lugano behind us, we’ll follow a picturesque lakeside drive around Lake Lugano and back into Italy. Take the scenic ferry from Cadenabbia to Bellagio, home to the who’s who of the Italian Lakes. Shop, stretch your legs, and take plenty of pictures as you’ll not easily find a more stunning location than Bellagio. Spend a few hours of leisure time and then take the scenic ferry back to Como, taking in the homes of various celebrities such as George Clooney along the way.
